So the question at hand: Is Pilates really all that its cracked up to be?
With so many trainer worldwide and tons of those in the USA we have seen quite a bit of hype and interest in Pilates in recent years, Though Pilates isn’t new in fact it has been around since about the beginning of the 20th century, Created by Joseph Pilates A German man December 9, 1883 – October 9, 1967 Pilates did catch on really well recently and so we decided to address the concern of whether its just another fad or something more.
Firstly Pilates differs its self from other workouts and Programs in that its a mind-body workout, Using as little as a floor mat its similar to Yoga But its also uses other equipment such as Exercise balls, Pilates Tables, Pilates Chairs, Pilates Machines often ambient music is used to help relax you during the class. Compared to Yoga Pilates is the new kid on the block, but its still holding its own and is growing in popularity really quickly in the western world, Since it really boils down to a western exercise vs eastern exercise Yoga its self is more known as the workout than the spiritual outlook and lifestyle. While its true Pilates does have some Yoga inspired parts it also combines relatively newer style of workout methods that really take the workout to a new level. I use the best Pilates studio in Texas, Eclipsewellness center and love it.
The benefits of Pilates are plentiful but don’t expect to just magically wake up one morning and have everything you want done for you, as we all know or at least we should all know that life doesn’t work that way unfortunately…
If you work hard and you put in the Time Pilates and and will reward you with all the benefits you want.
I would suggest giving it a go and deciding for yourself, after all what do you have to lose? A few pounds maybe 😛
